Nabira Mahavidyalaya, Katol, a private Management run institution of higher learning and affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, preeminently serves the cause of socially and economically poor students coming from rural background at Taluka place. The college adopts the university drafted syllabuses and apart from 04 (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. & M.Com.) grant-in-aid courses runs 09 (B.B.A., M.A. (His), M. A. (English), M. Com. (English Medium), M.Sc.(Maths), M.Sc.(Che), M. Sc. (Physics), M. Sc. (Microbiology) & M.B.A.) self-financing courses. Besides, 02 University approved Certificate courses (Plant Tissue Culture and Serriculture), 01 college level certificate course in Yoga and 01 Diploma in Yoga Teaching (Open University) are also run.

For professional development of faculty, the college Management provides study leave, encourages faculty to undertake research projects, present papers in State/ National/ International seminars/ conferences and join Orientation/ Refresher courses.

A Research and Development Committee headed by the Principal motivates and encourages faculty to undertake M. Phil., Ph.D., Minor and Major Research Projects, to publish research articles in refereed/ peer reviewed and UGC Carelist research journals of national and international fame, publish books, etc. For doing Ph.D. under FIP scheme of UGC, faculty are granted study leave and salary both.

For the benefit of the community, the college organizes Free Medical Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Tree Plantation, Orientation Course in soft skills and various Outreach Programmes. Besides, World Women’s Day and International Yoga Day are organized to create awareness among women and general health of students and staff.

The college has sound infrastructure faculties like well equipped Classrooms, Central and Departmental Libraries, Laboratories, Audio Visual Hall, Computer Literacy Centre, Auditorium, Girls’ Hostel, Staffroom, Departmental Offices, Yoga Center, etc. For extra-curricular activities, the college has a big playground with Volleyball, Football, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi courts, Two Multi-station Gyms, Table Tennis court. NSS and NCC offices are also there.

The central library provides OPAC access system. Circulation of books and journals is from the counter. Reference services are in the reading rooms for students and faculty separately. Book bank facility is also available.

The Counseling Cell keeps on counseling students throughout the session. Grievance Redressal/ Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell looks after grievances, if any and promptly solves the problems. Computer Literacy Cell gives computer training to all students of the college. The level of proficiency is in handling office work including computerized accounting and internet surfing.

In order to inculcate values among students a large number of activities are organized. Personality development activities are organized to ensure all round development of students’ personality. The Alumni Association organizes some meaningful activities for current students.

The college annually publishes a college magazine “Prajakta” comprising essays, articles, poems, short stories, etc. written by students. Besides, a quarterly bulletin Akashganga is published to record achievements of students and staff.

A well planned mechanism is there to get feedback from students, parents and other stake holders which is analyzed in a meeting of faculty and accordingly decisions are taken.

The staff members are empowered to successfully carry out curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular and various extension activities. Adequate budgetary provision is made to meet day to day expenses. Accounts are audited regularly by Chartered Accountant, Joint Director’s office and the Accountant General’s office. The Accounts are maintained by computer software system.
